Players who develop the Yips

This has always fascinated me. Player that comes to mind is Chuck Knoblauch. He played second base and throwing to first is not a long difficult throw but he just completely lost it. Chuck hit ESPN’s anchor Keith Olbermann’s mom right between the eyes in the stands when he air mailed it 10 feet over the first baseman. During one game Chuck had 3 errors and took himself out of the game. Strange that he could no longer make a throw that he had done over 10,000 times.
Other players that come to mind:
Mackey Sasser catcher for the Mets. Only effected his throw to the pitcher. He could still throw out baserunners. But he would hesitate and throw a soft rainbow flick to the pitcher. Baserunners would steal on him during this throw.
Daniel Bard pitcher. Yips would come and go for this guy. Couldn’t throw a strike and he was sent down to triple A and double A and struggled. He retired. Yips went away and he went back to MLB for a few more years.

Kevin Na couldn’t take the club back for about a year. Had to take time off from playing professional golf because he literally couldn’t swing. Came back and was able to be a really good pro after

Charles Barkley - His golf swing didn't always look like a laggy internet connection.

Not sure Fultz counts because he had Thoractic Outlet Syndrome, which was physical rather than just a mental issue.

Jon Lester couldn't throw to first

David Duval always fascinates me. Stood right up to peak Tiger before completely falling off a cliff and has publicly been open that the pressure is what got to him.
It might be the one thing we take as fans for granted more than anything else, but longevity and sustaining success is so under appreciated. It has to be so difficult to stay on the mountaintop

He was never the same after that and had teammates to shoot free throws for him.

did he though? His last PGA Tour win was in 2001.
People thought he was going to stand up to peak Tiger, but he never did, fell off, and wasn't heard from again

Markelle Fultz is another one. Although idk if that was yips as much as it was improper teaching.

Chuck Knoblach comes to mind. Prob spelled his name wrong. It's been a while since I've thought about him

I was always amazed that other teams didn't take advantage of this more often and steal second every single time.
