On this day in 1986, they released their self-titled debut studio album featuring singles “Boy" “I Touch Roses" “You Make Me Feel So Good" and “Modigliani (Lost In Your Eyes)"

I had the CD and loved it. Especially this song

And I Touch Roses
And of course BOY

All these were staples of a great going out mix

Not sure if this is still true, but the song "Boy" used to be the national Lesbian theme song. Not officially of course, but you'd be hard pressed to find a lesbo who didn't love this song.

S - I'm assuming you were in HS around 1984-1988 ? The alternative, "First Wave" artists and songs you post would have been popular during this time. Lots of great memories from my teenage and college years. Re-mixes played in dance clubs kept this genre of music alive until Grunge changed the music scene and vibe.

Graduated High School in 92
These bands were popular amongst the kids who weren’t into mainstream music. Back in those days it was called underground. I thrived being different musically

I tried revisiting them a few years back and realized just how not good they were. Back in HS I was a fan, but they did not pass the test of time and maturity for me.

I graduated from HS in 1986. Movies like The Breakfast Club, 16 Candles, Weird Science, Pretty in Pink, Valley Girl, etc ... had soundtracks filled with new wave / techno-synthesizer / post-punk / underground music. OMD, Joy Division, New Order, Psych Furs, Echo, Spandau Ballet, Thompson Twins, Thomas Dolby got lots of new fans from these and similar teen comedy / romance movies.

blast from the past often played on Sirius - First Wave

I don’t know

It was a very popular tune for those who ingested 80's disco biscuits.
