I glanced at the Red Cedar Message Board and they seemed pretty bummed that their "dawg" is leaving.

Tre Donaldson also gone from Michigan. Maybe they can switch spots.

All the rats and snitches in Witness Protection have more loyalty than today's College athlete.

Why fans care when for players its a stopover brief destination to change laundry and collect a paycheck.

In essence, without verbally saying it....

Athletes actions, are saying it....you fans are suckers.

So the entire college athletic world is dependent on the mind of teenager?

Insanity!

Sure no rules are just great.

He's 70 so probably not long. If 75 year olds like Jim Larranaga and Leonard Hamilton can chalk up their retirements to the portal and NIL we'll definitely see it with Izzo.

The portal seems designed for the video game generation of kids who play 1 season as their favorite team, delete it and pick a new team and start over.

The ones who actually play as opposed to the ones who sit in suites and count the money?

Fans are absolutely fools. Players have NEVER cared. They were just held hostage by the rules so fans believed they cared. I could care less about any player outside of the lines of play. My teams QB could throw the winning TD pass and I wouldn’t buy him a coke after the game because he uses me for money and I use him for playing the game. Outside the game I have no use for any of them.

If I’m Izzo, Mulkey, etc. that Saban retirement plan would be calling my name.

If you got your rings and your money what’s the point?

Lol when was it a thing? When coaches could leave when they want for a better situation but players couldn't even though they could get processed at any time due to scholarships being yearly renewables?

Can’t blame a kid for looking to get paid while they can

The players aren't leaving for better situations though. Most don't cut it when they leave, Caleb Downs and a few other mercenaries aside.

not only are there going to be fewer good actual coaches willing to put up with this nonsense (it’s going to be more ceo fake car salesmeny types wanting to rise the coaching ranks) … but fans are going to start giving 0 fricks about players which is going to lead to decreases everywhere. fans are going to feel “used” and just get more and more bitter and apathetic about their teams

Exactly. Williard basically quits on Maryland during a tourney run for a better job. Buzz quits the cult for Maryland. Nobody questions the sanctity of sport. Some dude averaging 23 mpg at Mich St wants to leave and we're supposed to cry for Izzo.
