But im sure he also tested positive for substances that were not band. Sounds like cherry picking by the mlb to me!

If his first 4 games as a Brave are any indicator, it wasn't a PED.

Super salty as a Braves fan but it's complete bullshite that contracts aren't voidable for a PED suspension. Profar has been mid his whole career and then has a career season in his contract year where all supporting variables (exit velocity, line drive %, etc.) support his ability to sustain improvement going forward. Now we learn it was likely all PEDs and the Braves are stuck with a guaranteed (minus 80 games) contract for a guy the whole fan base probably hates now at a rate he absolutely does not deserve.

I am on record that I think the initial PED guys, with the exception of Palmeiro who is still pissing on people’s legs and telling them it’s raining, should finally be allowed into Cooperstown because everyone knew what was going on back then, including the fans, and looked the other way.
Now that people aren’t looking the other way, and eyes are constantly watching, I have zero sympathy for anyone who gets caught and they should be hammered. I know they are just looking for a competitive edge but I don’t care. They can’t do it, period.

Honestly that's a fair argument
PED suspensions should make contracts non guaranteed
PED suspensions should make contracts non guaranteed

Kinda where I'm at as well. No excuse in today's game

Yeah, his career WAR in 11 seasons was a combined total of 3.8, and last year at age 31 he all of a sudden busts out a 3.6 WAR with career highs in homers and RBI's. Something was up.

This is the argument against making contracts voidable for positive tests.
The Braves knew what was likely going on when they signed him.

He was getting actively tested last year during his career year and never tested positive. He said in his statement he was tested eight times and never got flagged. How are teams supposed to assume any uptick in production must be drugs in today's world?

He got 80 games BTW.
And also ineligible for the postseason according to MLB Network.

The Braves are in trouble.
They didn't improve themselves in the offseason. Rough start.

PEDs were NOT against the law. MLB had a straightforward rule for about 100 years, "don't ask, don't tell," period.
MLB refused to test for PEDS and then suddenly rounded up a handful of great players and decided it was more politically correct to sacrifice them on the altar of public opinion. Now MLB wants us to think of them as this profound keeper of the HOF Gate. It just doesn't get any more crooked and hypocritical than MLB.

Easy. They just assume it.
If the guy really had that marked of a production jump after a 10 year career, teams may be wise to not only assume he just finally figured it out.

All of the Caribbean players are roided up when they’re prospects. Guess many of them try to keep it going.
