Once xAI becomes user friendly for local business search results like Plumbers, HVAC, Painters, etc etc - google will be in deep trouble.

No reason to combine them.
Let both entities continue to run on their own...while using the other to become more successful. If they ever want to sell off one of them, then it's a lot easier to do with separate entities, than combined.

Twitter is real-time streams of data, which grok will train more heavily on now that it owns the data is my guess. Also, access to more capital for building more sophisticated models

Google best app for them as a company is Google Ads. When their search market control went from owning 94% of the search engine market down to 70%. - and once AI gets into search, google is going to be in deep trouble
