Please don't suck

Sony is getting ready to lower the drawbridge for its forthcoming movie The Legend of Zelda.

The studio’s live-action video game adaptation is set for theatrical release on March 26, 2027. Wes Ball, who helmed last year’s Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, is directing the feature that has not yet announced plot details or a cast.

Zelda is a beloved property for fans of Nintendo, as the gaming giant is known for being protective of its titles. Universal’s 2023 big-screen release The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which features the voices of Chris Pratt and Anya Taylor-Joy and surpassed $1.3 billion globally, was the first film to adapt a Nintendo property since the 1993 live-action version of the same game that stars Bob Hoskins as Mario and John Leguizamo as Luigi.

Ball is known for directing the Maze Runner trilogy before taking on Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, with the latter grossing nearly $400 million worldwide.

So is Link going to be silent, or no?

That last Planet of the Apes movie was pretty good.

They just need to nail his yell when you do a sword attack. Don't care if he is silent or not otherwise

Hyaaah! Unless it’s a complete shitshow I’m definitely going to see this.

I think the idea of silent Link died when they decided to go live action.

After the live action Mario movie debacle and the huge success of the animated movie, going back to live action seems incredibly risky.

I guess they feel the Zelda world is more mature, in line with say a Lord of the Rings style presentation.

Even though her voice was Peach, Anya Taylor Joy would be a perfect Zelda.

My children love it too but a proper Dark World needs to be dark and scary. Let’s hope that they stay faithful to the source material but not the timeline which is a mess.
