Mulkey's a hall of famer and demands it. McMahon picks up his check.

Things that make you go hmmm
Only 2 WBB teams in NCAA spend more $ than their MBB teams
LSU & SC
Both finished at the bottom of SEC in MBB

There's a lot of emotional fans out here that will find a way to argue facts. Pretty wild. I wonder how these numbers stack up to the rest of the SEC.

One coach has championships and the other doesn’t.
Let’s see if the admins anchor this thread too

One program makes money & one loses money, but at least they made the Sweet 16 three years in a row

One might be losing money because the coach is dogshit.
Just because you pump more money into something doesn’t guarantee results.
Plenty of other sec programs have had immediate success with less after hiring a new coach.
Give him all the money you want and the results won’t match the spend. Maybe they turn more of a profit but that coach isn’t winning shite here.

If you throw in a donut, they'll ignore the facts completely.

one team spent several days out of town for the conference tourney, then had to travel and spend a few days for the NCAA tourney.
the other, well. just one day in Nashville.
I'm sure that's not the entirety of the difference in expenses, but that is a chunk.

It’s just a simple fact that many people on here don’t understand, LSU boosters, for whatever reason, don’t support the basketball team as much as others. It’s why Will Wade was paying guys out of his own bank account. It’s also why the haven’t fired McMahon. LSU boosters simply don’t want to pony up $15+ million to make that change. If someone came up to Woodward and said here is $8 million for McMahon’s buyout, I believe it would be done.
I get downvoted every time I say this but get no legitimate responses.

One has players that have made a ton on NIL due to their success and popularity. LSU’s brand has a lot to do with that and social media is now king.
Men’s program can’t say the same. Sure WBB loses a ton, but no other school in the country has female athletes brining in NIL money like LSU. That’s more brand exposure that isn’t directly associated with the WBB P&L

They knew what they signed up for when courting Mulkey for the job. How you think she has a staff as big as the team? Men's basketball will always make money, will make more this year thanks to the rest of the league, and McMahon won't make waves. He'll get his teeth kicked in and go on to the next one.

Which one has a ring?
When LSU wins, I don't see a penny of it so I really don't care if we invest in a for profit sport or not. I want us to invest in a program that hangs banners and flags.

Because we've sucked for most of the last 3 decades. We also have a coach that inspires 0 confidence or enthusiasm to motivate boosters.

maybe that's their business plan, don't put a lot into mbb to increase margin so it can help subsidize the non-revenue producing "sports"

NCAA Revenue Sharing Estimates
I'm not sure if this site is legit but could the difference in Revenue Sharing in Men's and Women's Basketball be a factor.
