Has anyone not received their matching contributions to their 401k/403b accounts?

For the 2024 year. My employer deposits matching contributions in the 1st quarter after pay year. In years past, it’s been anywhere from late Feb to mid-March. I emailed HR and they told me they do not know the exact date (I highly doubt that), but it would be before end of 1st quarter. Seeing if this is the norm or outlier.

Quarter isn't over yet.
Yet.
Yet.

Not sure on exact deadline but I'd figure they'd have some issues if they failed to do it timely
Why do they not do it by each pay check?

You have to be employed by Dec 31 of the pay year to receive contribution (5% of salary…2% core match and 50% of the first 6% contributed). They are saving money with the “must be employed by Dec 31” rule obviously. It’s a big hospital system here in LA.

My employer matches with every paycheck.

They actually have until tax filing deadline. Which can be extended all the way to the fall.
To answer your question every company is different. And a lot of times it depends upon the requirement for the match. The last day rule (having to work 12/31) definitely makes one large deposit make sense. Other matches (like safe harbor) that have to be given no matter what are usually deposited with each payroll.

I'm fortunate. My employer puts the matching in my account every pay period.

I think it's April 15th they have to have it in by.

I got mine in February and that's generally when it's deposited. But there was one year where it was as late as mid March

They have to deposit before the tax return is filed to be able to count it as a 2024 expense. That can be all the way to October 15th with extensions.

Wait, at the risk of sounding like a dumbass, the money you got today was the employer match from the entire year of 2024? Cuz i didn’t get any and since i didn’t work 1000 hours last year (new), i guess i’m not getting any until next Spring…
