Rock for beds around the house

I am looking for a source for rock to install in my flower beds around the house in lieu of mulch. I don't put down flower plants, only a couple of green shrubs.
I live south of Lafayette. Prefer local. Thanks in advance for your response.

Any small concrete supplier would probably sell you gravel by the trailer load.
That’s where I buy washed rock.

yes washed gravel from a redi-mix plant, as above. One thing though, you’d better put down a weed block because pulling weeds thru gravel is not a whole lot of fun

I like your thinking. I plan on doing the same but maybe larger rocks.... or a mixture. Something like the Texas Roadhouse landscape look or our Costco's in BR.

We use the grass and rock shop. Near the intersection of verot school road and highway 92. We have Colorado river rock all underneath our eaves against the house and as a border in some areas as well as the base underneath some shrubs. We made use of various sizes. 2-3” all the way to grapefruit size. They sell by bag or weight. Some of our larger projects took over a ton and was shoveled from a trailer. That was fun. They’re always courteous. I’d never buy from lowes or Home Depot.

I'm sensing some sarcasm with the "that was fun" comment. Shoveling large rocks is definitely a chore.

Lafayette Materials or Grass and Rock Shoppe.

I used some grey slate rocks from a local stone yard in South MS in a couple areas that are mostly shade. I put down landscape fabric so they wouldn't sink in the dirt. I do get some leaves in the beds from a neighbor's oak tree and for the most part, the rocks stay put when I blow the leaves out of the bed. This is why I went with a larger stone. I've planted some shrubs in the bed and they've done well.

The materials calculator will be a helpful tool when calculating how many cu yards will be needed. I think typical depth is 4-6" for rock bed.

Yes... I know. But I'm referring to the rocks used.
