Why most uniforms look blue? But some purple…

I believe it’s because some are brand new and some aren’t. The hats caught my eye earlier but I don’t think that is abnormal. Some guys rotate in a new hat more often than others.

What does that even mean?

here ya go. Why is the guy's hat on the right purple, but the others blue?

I blame Nike. They aren’t using our actual royal purple but some abomination.

The guy on the right has a different hat is my only thought.

You should because it’s a TV thing. Even in that picture, the bill of Dickinson’s hat is purple, but the rest looks blue like the other players. Do you think Dickinson was wearing a purple and blue hat? I can answer that…. He wasn’t. He along with the rest were wearing purple hats and grey jerseys.

There are tons of variables that can have an effect on this. The color or temperature of the lighting, the direction the light is coming from, shadows, the direction the player is facing, exposure and other camera settings, etc.

I say this as someone who does videography and photography on the side. I can assure you, the hats were purple and the jerseys were grey.
