LSU pitching underperforming

The staff, as a whole has a tremendous amount of talent and depth. I expect that as the season goes on, some of these guys in the bullpen will step up and show that they can be counted on to perform under pressure.
This series against UT will be a great gauge, because we have used up our best reliever already. Schmidt, Rizy, Primeaux, Benge, etc, will have an opportunity to shine and show that they can bridge the gap between the starters and the closer (Evans or Guidry).
I'm really looking forward to watching this staff. We have so many talented arms, I just want to see who we can count on by the end of the year. Who will be this year's Kade Anderson.

22-1, best start in program history, yet we are underperforming?

We haven't seen the best of Shores, Ware, and Schmidt yet.
I can't imagine Cowan and Evans being any better than they already are

Team pitching stats are top 20 in the country. Pretty much across the board

I am sometimes ashamed to associate myself with some of our fanbase. This a truly dumbass take

Your title is odd
Maybe you should have watched the first 23 games, but, hey, enjoy your first game today.

Not "we". The pitching. We were ecstatic about our pitching after the first weekend - many ks, few walks. Better competition and our young pitchers are struggling with their command.

We are hitting 20 points higher than anyone else in the league, our defense has been elite, and our competition has been substandard. That is why we are 22-1 My point is that our bullpen hierarchy is not established.
Ware, Benge, Noot, Rizy, Primeaux have all gotten shots with mixed results. Williams, Dorsey, and Mayers have not really had much of an opportunity. Some of these guys need to establish themselves as dependable middle relievers. I believe they will. I just don't know who "they" is.
BTW - I thing Cooper Williams could have a good shot, given our lack of southpaws in the pen.

I think Jay johnson has a clear picture of their roles. The groupings are pretty obvious for anyone that watches, too.

Evans isn’t just a 1 inning guy though.
I think they want to see if he can go 2.1-3 innings.
Thisnis what jay wants.
in a perfect world we get 6-7 from Eyanson tomorrow and Evans pitches the last 2
for the most part out bullpen has been good.
especially considering Jay has been in the tinkering phase up to this pointed
but in 4 SEC games so far they Starters have given up 12 ER to the Bullpens 6 in 16.2 innings if my quick count is correct

3 guys have roles.
Evans is our “closer”
Cowan is our top reliever/long
reliever
Primeaux is LOOGY
everyone else is in flux. w
