These tips are anything but booming. Baby Boomers are the worst tippers according to a new survey of over 2,000 Americans, with the generation’s average tip percentage landing at 16.40%, more than two percentage points lower than the national average of 18.85%. Meanwhile, Millennials tip the most, averaging 19.49%, with Gen Z trailing behind at 19.31%.
The survey found that Boomers were the least likely to tip out of the age groups polled. Getty Images/iStockphoto “Baby Boomers and the few representatives of the Silent Generation (those born between 1925 and 1945) included in this poll are also the most likely age group to never tip,” the survey authors wrote. “Data also shows that Millennials are the most reliable tippers, leading in almost every category, especially at restaurants, hotels, and personal services.”

Well they're also eating dinner at 3:45 pm. Better than having an empty restaurant.

Boomers keep showing they are the soft men who created hard times. The wealthiest generation who stole the wealth from their grandkids and left them with the debt while they hoard every last dollar they can to the grave.

I've always been a generous tipper, but if this ridiculousness keeps up, imma go on strike.

They didn't really need to do a study, could have just asked anyone who has ever worked at a restaurant
I'd always go back in "to use the restroom" and leave some more cash on the table when we'd go out to eat with my Grandpa.

I imagine that age group is increasingly living on a fixed income, as well. Might factor in that.

The boomers are right about this behavior.

Boomers PR game is worse than Tyreek Hill’s pull out game.

61+ is probably always the worst tippers...many are on fixed incomes

My Grandmother (Silent Generation) is a pretty good tipper. She's on a fixed income but if she feels like she can't afford the tip she doesn't go out.
My Dad (Boomer) on the other hand is the absolute fricking worst and will find any excuse he can to not tip. Last time we went out to eat he tried to skip out on tipping the waitress because he didn't think his frozen margarita had enough salt around the rim. It's embarrassing as hell and we usually have to throw in the tip to compensate.

Boomers won’t retire because they don’t have any money after being in the workforce for 40+ years. This is a no shite study. They’re the most selfish and foolish group of people around while being full of some bullshite bravado about being a corporate slave into their 70s. Real morons

No surprise. They are the GREEDIEST generation ever.
