It's not based on any one incident. It didn't take much googling to discover that. It's actually a really well done series.

The VAST majority of stabbings are immigrants or immigrants offspring.

Its akin to a Hulk movie being portrayed as a 90lb girl, course thats probably in the works

I already knew that they altered it. I'm not shocked, considering it's British, woke and produced by Netflix.

BTW. If you haven't watched the series yet, dont waste your time. It's slow moving and the camera work is nauseating.

Sometimes the misleading portrayal is necessary.

In the movie Master and Commander an english ship is chasing a French ship with a radical new design made in America.

This is true, the US Constitution was constructed with Live Oak versus traditional oak, thus it was much stronger requiring less thickness of the walls and hull of the ship, enabling a sleeker design.

The producer said no one in Hollywood would buy the US Constitution being captured because it never lost a battle.....so he changed it to French.

Master and Commander

A criminally underrated movie. Russell Crowe at his best.

Definitely don't disagree here. Facts are facts. The show creators say it was based on the increase in knife stabbing incidents across the UK was my point.

Call me naive, I guess I just don't understand why everything has to be made into an issue. Regardless of if it is or isn't based on real life...why can't it just be enjoyed for what it is and not made into a debate topic?

The way the episodes were shot with the one-shot camera technic should be way more talk-worthy than the alleged inspiration for the story...which conveniently enough is not even the largest part of the story.

Ask Netflix which, if the OP is true, is trying to pretend conservatives are behind the explosion of knife crimes in the UK.

I just got into a long argument with ChatGPT and got it to admit the truth:

Oh, and Google is propaganda. I wouldn’t expect someone like you to know that, though.

I thought Adolescence was really well done. I was unaware it was based on any one murder. In the show the attacker did so after being degraded by the girl online for several months. It did not take place on a bus either. I’m not saying a rise in stabbing by young men didn’t play into this, but the circumstances seem to be pretty different.

you just perfectly summed up the agenda of the Left. they make EVERYTHING political, then when we point it out, they turn around and say "hey stop making everything political"

frick that. call it out EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Yes, Netflix deliberately altered it in order to be politically correct.

The actual murderer was a scumbag migrant.

Please elaborate what you mean by "someone like you." Are you insinuating something?

ChatGPT is correct. It's not based on any one incident. The 2nd sentence of your ChatGPT response is what I was alluding to.

The movie takes elements from a few of O'Brian's novels. Yes, the ship in the book Far Side of the World is American, and it was indeed inspired by the Constitution, but is called the USS Norfolk in the fictional story.

Peter Weir didn't think American audiences would want to see a film in which Americans are the bad guys, so he made them French.
