The landscape is shifting in college basketball. Just look at who Indiana hired and who they refused to entertain. DeVries is ok but nowhere near a Chris Beard yet a program who spends a ton on bball NIL went with the lesser coach. It’ll be interesting to see what Virginia and Nova do.

We don’t know the particulars of whether or not he did it to save football so I’ve never been too hard on Woody for the firing. It’s the hiring of McMahon and the contract that shows how inept he is in this area.

Seems like Will Wade likes building programs and making them his own. NC State has a ton of history in a basketball rich state. They’re a sleeping giant.

I don’t disagree and I am not a big Brian Kelly fan but we were really bad when he got here and we’re not anymore. Was it a home run? We’ll see, I doubt it but football has to be at least marketable and it is now.

He will be the next Calipari, not the best Xs and Os guy, but will amass a ton of talent and the players love playing for him.

I won’t waste your time telling you to dig through those old threads but if you saw the discussions around the time of the hire many of us couldn’t understand it and there were plenty of good options you could’ve gotten instead.

You guys watch too many movies. The NCAA did not ask LSU to fire Wade to “save” football. What a ridiculous story that’s been repeated on here for years.
Sometimes these things are simpler than they appear. Fat Scott didn’t want the negative press that Wade brought and didn’t want the journalists being mean to him anymore.

Just felt like they were pulling another fast one on fans. “Hey look he won 30 games and had Morant on his team” just ignore that nobody else wanted him or that he got crushed anytime he played a team with a pulse, couldn’t blow out weak teams with a huge talent advantage and we’d already see his act in the SEC from his coach and mentor who had a better pedigree. Of course our sidewalk basketball fan base ate that up.

No movies, a huge portion of the football violations were redacted after the firing so it’s possible and again I said I didn’t know so pretending like I said I did is bit off.
