The Cosby Show

Was watching the first couple seasons (very funny) and couldn’t help but notice that all the actors they had on the show were black, mixed and Asian people. The only white was the little fat kid that they made out to be an idiot. I know the show was designed to uplift black people, but damn zero white folks..

And the 'blacktivists' even in the day whined because it wasn't 'authentic to the black experience'.
Literally no pleasing some folk.

Adam Sandler's white. Wallace Shawn is white. Danny Kaye is white. Sabrina LeBeauf was half white.
But... it was a black sitcom. You sound as bad as blacks do when they whine about there not being enough black characters in a show.

Because the show was about a very successful black family in a high end area of Philadelphia. If memory serves me, most of the show was done inside the Huxables house. So of course you wouldn't see many white people. Same with Family Matters.

If you think that's bad you should see Sanford and Son

They could've hired Marisa Tomei to be Denise but nooooo Cosby waited until A Different World to hire her because he's racist.

The Cosby Show is still great. We watch it reruns often in our house and it holds up pretty well. shite is hilarious.

I was wrong. Must be the Mandela effect. I swore it was in Philly.

Cosby is from Philly and he was always wearing Temple stuff. His only show in Philly was Fat Albert

I don't think George called them friends.
Even called the daughter a zebra.

I watch that show every night on the Grio (all black channel like BET). IDC who was on it, that show is hilarious. It captured parenthood and raising kids. That is the same whether you white, black, brown, yellow or green. I laugh so much when Cliff tell Theo that he is afraid to try in school cuz he is afraid that his brain will ooze out his ear if he tries. And that he brought him in this world and he will take him out. EVERY parent says shite like this to their kid.

This one always comes to mind.
No 14 year old boy should have a $95 shirt unless he is on stage with his four brothers.
