"Christ is King" was trending hard on X yesterday after the DW heavily intimated at a minimum, that it is hate speech.

See, if you want to have a lot of people start wearing “Christ is King” t-shirts, this is how you do it.

Daily Wire?
But it was actually supposedly and ADL thing.

There is but one King... and Christ is that King. Guess I'm guilty of hate speech.

I'm going to buy one now. If this is falling for the grift so be it. At least it's sending a message that I believe.

Christ is King isn't hate speech. It's also not something that was an exceedingly common phrase (like say, Jesus is Lord) in recent memory before a band of online influencers started using it with a lot of mixed motivations.

I don't really care about the "it's anti-semitic" stuff, but I do take note that a lot of people who spend zero percent of their time on Christian messaging but spend a lot of time trying to make money as an influencer appealing to a Christian base start using it out of the blue as a political barb. Example: Poso.

There are Christian pastors/influencers who are in on this, the Ogden guys most notably, but tons and tons of other people wielding it as a weapon against culture/the left/whatever only took interest in this fact (that Christ is king) when it became a very-online political battlecry.

I mean....these are the people that crucified Jesus and teach all kinds of lies about him so I'm not surprised. It is something that these are the same people saying Trans people can't dictate speech but try to restrict our speech when it comes to Jesus.

They complained about Karoline Leavitt wearing a crucifix and it appears to be working lately while she's at the podium.

How is "Christ is King" antisemitic? It is literally referring to a Jew as the King of all kings.

I've had a combination of Evangelical and Catholic school education. "Christ is King' is normal language in both Christian environments. It was never really mentioned except by my pastors and teachers. In fact one of my former jr. high friends is now a pastor of "Church of the King" megachurch a few miles from me. I believe I've attended some masses at Catholic churches named "Christ is King".

But the DW folks with ADL are mad at Candace using the phrase because they are interpreting it as a pejorative because Candace has anti-Zionists opinions.

Okay by me. I'd rather hear God is Great though. Less chance of getting bombed.

I just don't think so and a lot of very conservative Christians agree with me about that particular use. Which isn't to say it's a bad phrase - similar phrases like "Christ the King" is very common especially in RCC stuff. Obviously "Jesus is Lord" - much more common IMO, is practically the same.

I'll happily say "Christ is King" because it's true. But I'm a practicing Christian, I'm not an influencer who never speaks like that trying to farm engagement for a war on the new right, which is a lot of what you're seeing with people like Poso et al.

I just can't support using the Gospel as a mere dig at a cultural enemy, even if I believe in the statement's truth. I'm sure a lot of actual Christians are using it with both intents, and I think Christians should be mindful that their motives don't push them to use faith as a vehicle for cultural/political battles rather than the other way around.

Again, this surrounds Candace. She is a recent Catholic convert and on fire right now. Over time she will simmer down so I'm enjoying her fire right now.
