I get the love for Jones at 1B but there is no way I could leave Trey Morgan off this list. He was one the best all around players LSU has ever had.

I really want Berry on there. How bout Bear at Catcher. Berry DH, Tre at 1st?

I agree, you can't leave Tre off. But I also can't leave Berry off. Unless you want to put Jones or Berry in LF to fit Tre in at 1B, having Morgan in LF is probably the best way to put it.

A lot of those guys are not Jay's players they are CPM's

He was ok at the plate but couldn’t catch anything that wasn’t a fastball. I’d take Hayden, Milazzo, or Hernandez at C.

Did any of them improve under the tutelage of Jay after not being all that under Paul? I can see a few in the proposed lineups.
Why does everyone on here think that just bc a coach recruits you, they’re responsible for your entire athletic career’s development!

My Lineup- and this involved first impressions and projections.
1. Curiel L - LF
2. Crews R - CF
3. Tommy R - 3B
4. Berry S - DH
5. Jones R - 1B
6. Morgan L- RF
7. Dickson R - 2B
8. Milam S - SS
9. Milazzo R - C
I saw some lineups with like 4-5 right handed hitters in a row and we all know that would give JJ hives.
Most games you are starting with 1-2 base runners and 0-1 outs with White, Berry and Jones coming up to bad.
2 switch hitters makes that lineup workable for pretty much any pitcher
it goes from 5 RHP 4 LHP to 7 RHP and 2 LHP
1. Curiel L - LF
2. Crews R - CF
3. Tommy R - 3B
4. Berry S - DH
5. Jones R - 1B
6. Morgan L- RF
7. Dickson R - 2B
8. Milam S - SS
9. Milazzo R - C

6. Dugas - 2B

This team hits
My hot take is Dugas over Dickinson

not the hottest take
it’s know quantity vs projection
I think you have to argue if you put Jobert in though.
why apply that logic to Dickinson vs Dugas and not Curiel v Jobert

It's hard to strictly argue against this knowing we havent even hit SEC play for the likes Curiel, Dickinson, etc... yet. A better way to do this list is probably only use players on the teams from the past 3 season and not this one right now, so as not to jump the gun basically. Maybe use some results for players on the team in the past from this season (Monster at SS for example), but it is a little tough either way to put guys like Curiel and Dickinson on there knowing they havent hit the meat of the schedule yet (Even though again I doubt either has struggles much, you really never know).
The 1 thing I think a lot of us would agree on is the catcher position is pretty disappointing (no offense to Milazzo, Trav or McManus) in comparison to basically everywhere else

Thats 1 where I really hope Arrambide gets things figured out because the kid has all the tools. Just figure out how to receive and block more balls.

Plus my team couldn’t just be built for the home run ball. Needed a couple guys to hit to average

Too lazy to do a full lineup rn but haven’t seen Ryzleman mentioned. He’d be in my pen.

Look at all y’all putting Morgan in the outfield

Man I find it hard pressed to keep Doughty out of the lineup. That dude always seemed to come up huge and was very consistent at the plate.
Posted on 3/14/25 at 2:33 pm to Holdeeny
Yeah Im taking Doughty or Dugas before I see Danny D vs SEC comp. This list should be made/revised after this season especially the pitching/pen.
