Heavenly Father, as we face the possibility of severe weather, we humbly ask for your protection and guidance. We pray for the safety of our homes, families, and communities, and for the well-being of all those who may be affected by this storm. May your calming presence be with us, and may we find strength and courage in your love. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord. Amen.

Thank you to you and others who provide coverage of these events.

Everyone stay safe tonight and tomorrow. As James Spann says, we’ll get through this,

I’ve mentioned that there is a weather forum that I post on. On that forum, one of the meteorologists at the National Weather Service in Birmingham is also a user. He posted a little while ago that the ceiling on this event is very very high, and that there is a “non-zero” chance that this could develop into a super outbreak.

Take that for what you will, but this is someone who has true knowledge. He’s not a keyboard warrior. He will likely be one of the mets issuing warnings for NWS Birmingham tomorrow.

I appreciate everyone who contributes to these threads. I’m just a weather nerd who doesn’t know much, but we have some great posters here that add a lot to these threads. Godspeed to everyone who is in the risk area over the next 48 hours. I’m praying that this thing busts.

Does everything these days have to be SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAK

It's going to be thunderstorms with heavy winds, like we have our entire lives

But now every dork on social media thinks he is a weather expert and we get a thread on TD 2 "tracking" this "storm" for 2 weeks. It just fricking normal weather patterns and people act like Katrina is about to hit land

SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAK

It is a severe weather outbreak. Tonight and tomorrow is, by definition, a severe weather outbreak.

This is a very substantial, high-end severe weather threat. If you can’t see and respect that, I can’t help you.

It appears there's serious tornado risks, not sure why you find this to be overhyped.

As someone who has had three EF4s go within miles of me in my life while also being in an EF3 - days like tomorrow aren’t normal. It’s about making people aware and trying to save lives.

So Severe it requires a duplicate thread of the same event.

Chicken requested a new thread with an updated OP so that he could sticky it.
