lawsuit against oil companies

Backing multiple lawsuits against oil companies for coastal damage while also suing to stop the coastal restoration project.

The best part is admit in the suit that the oil companies followed all the original regs at the time and the state had lax regs or didn't enforce properly.

Anyone want to tell him?

That all these lawsuits were filed under JBE. Look at who the Intervenor is
quote:

Louisiana State; Louisiana Department of Natural
Resources, Office of Coastal Management, Thomas F. Harris, Secretary,

He aint the Secretary no moah

Also, the coastal restoration was halted when Plaquemines Parish filed in 2023. JBE was guv then
quote:

The Mid-Barataria Sediment Diversion Project broke ground in August 2023, but three months into construction it was halted when Plaquemines Parish sued, alleging the project would increase flooding and flood insurance rates for local residents.

Heres Landrys actual take
quote:

Landry in August said he was optimistic a compromise could be reached in the parish’s lawsuit against the state

Landry is destroying what little economy we had left from JBE. Attorneys and business had a fight and the Attorneys won.

Move to Texas.

Carmouche was backed up by Jimmy Faircloth, an attorney representing the state attorney general’s office and the Department of Energy and Natural Resources, which are supporting Plaquemines Parish in the lawsuit.

Faircloth made clear that Gov. Jeff Landry’s administration supports the oil and gas industry and the jobs it brings to the state. But he stressed that this lawsuit was about remedying “sins of the past” committed by Texaco as well as the regulatory state, which Faircloth said had failed to enforce

This was blatantly done with the governor's blessing prior to taking office. His appointees immediately came in and changed the State/CPRA's entire position on the issue to align with Plaquemines.

You’re so stupid it’s not even funny. Have you not seen all the businesses building stuff all throughout the state?

Governor lockdown destroyed our economy and chased citizens out of the state. Go cut off your dick and pretend to be a woman.

Ok, give me something to work with. What has Gov done for business? I’m asking Grok for in-migration statistics for people and capital to Louisiana and it ain’t coming up with much.

You mean Landry, right? It's not 100% clear from your post.

The story is that Landry secured Nungesser's support, and pledge not to run for office, by agreeing to stop the diversion.

Before then, under JBE, the state claimed preeminence when it came to these lawsuits. Landry (and the AG) then withdrew their objection to the Plaquemines lawsuit.

Now they (the Landry administration) are going to try for some nonsense half-measure that will cost a bunch of money, but not do anything for rebuilding land.

Landry is governor because the plaintiff bar made him governor. What exactly was the expectation here?

I thought these legacy lawsuits were one of the biggest battle grounds between JBE (pro) and Landry (against) when he was AG.
