Need more info as to what you’re wanting to do while in the area. So you’re wanting to travel at most an hour to Biltmore and then back an hour? Do you plan on doing anything else in Asheville? Biltmore and its gardens can take a lot of time out of your day.

Black Mountain or Hendersonville. Both 30-40 minutes

Brevard is really nice and you can catch the Blue Ridge Parkway almost to the Biltmore. Has Pisgah National Forest very close by. Hendersonville is great too, you can go to Dupont State also nearby.

Try to go in the Spring. The grounds at the Biltmore are something to see.

We stayed on the outskirts of Bryson CIty last summer and it was great. We drove to Asheville for the day which was about an hour Drive. The Biltmore was awesome. Brevard is another place that was a nice area to stay. If you decide on Bryson CIty area and you play golf, i highly recommend playing Sequoyah National Golf Club, it was an amazing course. Lots of outdoor things to do in the area.

I stayed in downtown Ashville for the week. We did Bitmore on Friday before we left. Other than the homeless, Ashville offers a lot. Lots of Microbrews, lounges and ciderhouses, We did BBQ, Escape Room, VR F1, driving range, and a rye whiskey distillery that was out of this world.

Only time I was there I stayed on the Biltmore property at the small village hotel. It’s next to the winery and is very nice. Convenient to the attactions and you get the run of the grounds of Biltmore.

We stayed in Marshall and drove out to Asheville.
We did a chocolate and wine pairing at the Biltmore that we really enjoyed. My kid did the falconry thing.
