I see some kind of article everyday (and posts here and PB) on egg prices and people going nuts over shortages and the like. What is the big deal? Do people really eat that many eggs?

Supposedly they're a good source of protein but I found things like canned fish have WAY more protein along with great fatty acids that are way better for you than eggs.

We might buy a very small carton of eggs to make something like a cake or pancakes or use it as an emulsifier in a meatloaf or something like that. What gives? Why is everybody so hyped up over eggs?

Do you think they're that good?

To me, they don't taste like anything.

Well answer up.

The platitudes so you can get upvotes are kind of old

I would like to see you make an omelet with canned fish.

You know how many food items eggs are used in?

Do you know how many eggs any restaurant or cafeteria that feeds 100 people or more per day goes through?

The US produce is almost 100000,000,000 eggs a year. Fluctuation in price is a huge deal.

Google says the average American adult eats 281 eggs a year.

An omelet is made with eggs, genius.

Funny though

I probably eat 5 a year and almost all of them are mixed into something like cake or pancake/waffle batter.

Every now and then ... every 7-10 years I might eat a boiled egg. I put a good bit of salt on it so it tastes like something.

#2 Don't care. I cook at home and rarely eat out.

I suppose RFKjr thinks you should fry your eggs in beef tallow.

Where do I buy beef tallow?
