Anyone else’s Netflix not show this as available yet to watch? The first episode was supposed to have premiered yesterday. I was excited to dig into this.

Why Is American Manhunt: Osama Bin Laden Not On Netflix Yet?
American Manhunt: Osama Bin Laden was originally scheduled to premiere on March 10, 2025, but the docuseries didn’t debut as planned. In a March 11 email, Netflix confirmed the release date was changed due to a “scheduling shift.”

I knew this was going to be a Netflix thread before i opened it. OJ already been done to death: let's do a doc. Bin Laden? doc. They will make a documentary about anything.

This has finally been released on Netflix. I don’t see any way I don’t finish all 3 episodes tonight.

The journalist having a contemplative moment of passion for the death of another human being (Bin Laden), then snapping out of it and going “Nah, frick him.” cracked me up.

Of course
They have typical liberal woman who was against Guat Bay torture for Info….
And they had to portray it as Obama being the one that really captured him

They spent 2.5 episodes diving into the work that a bunch of people did to make this happen and your takeaway is that they are giving all the credit to Obama? I absolutely loathe the guy but your take is way off here

I can’t imagine being that guy sitting across from bin Laden for the interview in 1998 or whenever. Everyone knew the guy was pure evil and to have the stones to go in there and ask him questions is something that I cannot comprehend

They literally said it…. Obama came in, put more pressure on them, etc.
Did I watch the wrong doc?

None of that is wrong. The level of obsession to have that be your main takeaway is bizarre.

Ok. Just a note on the show.
If that’s your definition of obsession… Lord Help you lol

You realize he was an American CIA operative right? Thats how fricked up the people running this country behind the scenes are.

This and the seal when asked "are you ever scared" ( in relation to pending missions/deployments) stating very frankly " of course we are scared, that's why we carry machine guns" - were the lines of the series.
I thought it was good, the third episode was, predictably, the best.

Again, 80% of the show highlighted the work of a bunch of people to get him with very little time spent on Obama, and your takeaway was that they gave him all the credit. Your only other note on the show was another snowflake moment about one woman being upset about the interrogation methods which was a 30 second throwaway moment. Your two “notes” were worthless

I imagine the decision to let that suicide bomber drive right through to the CIA agents without stopping and searching him was made by someone high up the chain behind a desk. I can't see the agents with boots on the ground thinking this was a good idea especially considering there had already been suicide bombings in the past.
