Judge orders urgent release of DOGE records, citing ‘unprecedented’ power and ‘unusual secrecy’

A federal judge has ruled that Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency is wielding so much power that its records will likely have to be opened to the public under federal law.
U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper said the vast and “unprecedented” authority of DOGE, formally known as the U.S. Digital Service, combined with its “unusual secrecy” warrant the urgent release of its internal documents under the Freedom of Information Act.
quote:
“The authority exercised by USDS across the federal government and the dramatic cuts it has apparently made with no congressional input appear to be unprecedented,” Cooper wrote in a 37-page opinion.

Fine, I bet DOGE won’t mind transparency! Whereas I bet there are lots of politicians, on both sides, that don’t want this.

Judge can pound sand. They don’t have power or make cuts.
Impeach this partisan hack. They clearly don’t understand the law and how it’s written

Funny how that works.
Info about something that threatens the bureaucracy has to be released immediately!

Fine. Who cares. We want transparency

There is a website that DOGE built that lists every single thing they find with proof

Translation: This Obama judge realizes that the Democrats need to find out exactly what DOGE is doing and (more importantly) how they are doing it so that they can come up with countermeasures and methods to make sure all their fraud and graft can be protected.

Congressional input is not required here.
Is the judge asking for internal deliberations, because if so, he'll have to get that from Congress first. And we all know Congress will refuse. Also, internal deliberations will not fall under FOIA.
I believe in transparency, but I also believe in making these clowns live by their own rules. Tell the judge to get lost.

Which records.. they’ve been transparent throughout these 6 weeks.

They want to release the documents under the Freedom of Information Act but what happened to sharing this the last few decades when USAID was stealing money and doing what they do? The judge 's gravy train is getting cut off also, that's probably why.

I'd rather have secrecy among the group auditing the bloated bureaucratic Hydra than from the Hydra itself as it seeks to keep itself shielded from scrutiny.

Ummm okay.
Isn't it interesting as frick though, how government and the like are on "fact-finding missions" and wanting "transparency".
