I know Global Warm... Errrrrr, Climate Change is not going away soon, but it is withering away as a mainstream issue. It's there, but it's not viewed as an existential threat by most people.

What's the next scheme to steal our money?

AI will be a huge issue. No one bothers to check AI output (less than 30% and shrinking) and a CRAP TON of people just believe it by default. It will only get worse as more companies onboard AI and it grows into everyday use.

I think you’re right. They would love to unleash another pandemic. If they could figure out how to do it where it targets conservatives I think they would.

Bringing in non-muslims from Syria before they are killed. If there are any left.

The next true crisis will be the end of the dollar as world reserve currency and the Ottoman Empire 2.0.

It’s obviously going to be all the cuts to the laundering aid scheme. It will be racist.

Truly though, when we can no longer print money because we are not the world’s reserve currency and the welfare state is shut off, I would not be near any major city. The lack of Darwinism and the propping up of the low IQ and lazy for more than a century has really bloated that demographic more than it ever would have 200 years ago. Riots and violence will follow.

Acid Rain
Ozone Depletion

These were the big ones when I was growing up.

In my earliest years in SoCal, everyone was convinced that "acid rain" was going to melt the world's infrastructure. The pH of average rain is 5.6, and any liquid with a pH <7 is acidic. Therefore, basically all rain is acidic. All these unusual rock formations in California, Utah, Arizona, etc. weren't simply formed by wind-blown sand. Rain itself plays the long game in deteriorating whatsoever it touches. So it's a non-issue and another lie.

Ozone depletion came in around the time "acid rain" was winding down and I had moved to the central US. I remember the news telling me I was killing the planet of I used aerosol cans for anything. Turns out the claims were greatly exaggerated and mostly disingenuous, but I still am thankful for the narrative because at least it ushered out the "big hair" trend of the 80s and 90s. .

Then, as you pointed out, it was straight on to deforestation, global warming, and climate change, respectively. There is a very specific and consistent, recognizable pattern of climatic "bogeymen" that are always presented in a recurring narrative as an existential threat. 1990s Al Gore promised me that half of Florida would be completely underwater by the mid-2000s if I didn't vote for him. Yet, here we are in 2025, and I'm pretty sure Florida is all still there to the best of my knowledge.
