DOGE is a good idea, I'm not too sure about the planning and execution.

There isn't a sensible person in the US who doesn't want to see the bloated federal government reduced and reduced substantially, but the process must be well planned, it must be metered and the American people should have a general idea of the plan and process. Just haphazardly cutting federal employees seems performative and in some cases makes DOGE come across as a fricking joke, we don't want that. We want this hard fought battle to get Trump back into the presidency to have lasting benefits for the American people
The general idea of cutting the federal government by 30-40-50% over a 5-10 year period would require shifting certain responsibilities/programs of the federal government back to the state level and that means each state will be required to have their own planning in place to assume those responsibilities/programs that are currently being administered by the federal government.
States will need to coordinate with Team Trump and prepare to handle their own educational system and requirements, their own farm policies, their own environmental policies and enforcement, etc. Will there still be some national standards that all states must meet? Most likely but it will not require 363 million square feet of office space (currently under the control of the GSA) and 2.5 million federal employees with an average salary of $110K including benefits.
Musk wielding the DOGE chainsaw was pretty funny but in reality the attempt to significantly reduce the size of the federal behemoth is serious business and it's going to take very savvy, very smart and very serious people to ever have a chance of becoming reality.

Calling for the federal government to be reduced by 50% is being liberal now?

Burn it to the ground and start over. The corruption of our government needs to be on the mainstream media every day. We need to hold each one of them accountable.

DOGE is top 5 in all time best things to happen to our country. And it's the only path to save us. Let Elon cut as much waste as possible

Agreed, your post is a good example of poor planning and execution.

Yeah maybe we should study if for another 20 years and that way we won't have anymore money and thus no more country ... GTFOH

Everyone hates processes to clean things up because it can look ugly and it can hurt good people, but we can’t keep kicking the can down the road sir.
We need to rip the bandaid off so the real healing can happen.

Dipshits- “nothing happens fast enough, they need to get off their asses and stop kicking the can down the road.”
Also dipshits- “DOGE is moving too fast and wasn’t planned well enough.”

Nope.. rip the bandaid off. Expose everything to the people and let the chips fall where they may

For better or worse, DOGE is leaving a lot of these Congressmen out to dry. The Austin Scott guy who represents Warner Robins is catching all kinds of shite back home from people in and around the Air Force base.

You're going to catch a lot of shite for saying this but I agree wholeheartedly. I'm all about cutting government but there's zero thought put into this process.

DOGE isn't cutting anything. They are consultants to the executive, who is doing the cutting.
But Musk and DOGE are doing one of the things intended, taking hate from the public while Trump's administration moves forward.

I would love to see the whole Imperial Capital purged and new America First/MAGA people brought in but I don't think that's logistically or legally possible.

Right. They seem to be rushing it and kind of incoherent. I like the general idea of DOGE too but it’s been haphazard and as you stated, apparently terribly underplanned. They had to call some nuclear maintenance and bird flu people back because apparently they didn’t realize who all they were firing. No reason for that to happen. It’s like they’re more concerned with making a big splash and not being at all vigilante about it.

Be perfectly honest, I don’t care if a damn asteroid hit DC. Might be the best way to really clear it without congress and judges getting in the way. Just need to make sure Trump is not there.
