Are there any Internet providers in Baton Rouge that have reliable service?
Cox has been going in and out for a couple of weeks and I’m ready to explore other options.

Reliable relates to BR when talking about rain, crime, heat, traffic, litter, etc.

Good stuff, like internet providers, it does not apply in BR

9 times out of 10 consistent problems are caused by the cable that goes into your house from that green thing in your yard or a neighbors yard. If neighbors are having the same issues, it’s likely the inside of that green thing.

That’s what I was thinking…might even be something inside of the house. During Covid I was having trouble and it to\urned out to be problems with my router.

My ATT fiber has been rock solid. Never been down once in 5.5 years.

It mostly depends on your physical connection in my opinion. We've lived here for 12 years and had very few problems with Cox for 10 years and very few with AT&T for 2. Their gateway sucks as a wifi access point though.

My mom lives 5 miles from us and Cox is very unreliable for her (and yes I set that up on a tee for TD)

If EATEL or whatever it's called now is an option, jump on it.

I’m nowhere near Baton Rouge, or anywhere in Louisiana for that matter. But I do live in a small town in North Alabama where the internet provider sucks rancid rhinoceros arse. A little over a year and a half ago, I switched to T-Mobile home internet. I’m sure you’ve seen their commercials with the two guys from the old “Scrubs” sit-com.

The service is outstanding. I can be logged into my company VPN, working on multiple platforms like Power BI, our CRM, all while on on a video Teams meeting. All this while my wife streams live TV and our daughter is playing video games. During football season, I stream crystal clear college football while my wife watches 80s movies. And the best part of it all, it’s $50 per month.

I’d check to see if you can get T-Mobile home internet in your area.

I dumped Cox for Rev last year. Best decision I’ve made. Cox was super unreliable in my area, which wasn’t good since I WFH.

Similar story for us 2 years ago.

Cox had went from 100% reliable to frequent outages in my area.

Rev (old Eatel) has been rock solid and reliable at a flat fixed rate of $72/mo with a speed that is plenty fast to have multiple devices streaming at once.

And I don't have to armwrestle over rate increases annually so far.
