I’m intrigued. Could see it being hilarious if it can toe a very fine line

From what you see in the trailer and what is known about 'current day' stuff, point to what might even give you that hope.
This has Santa,Inc, Velma vibes, all over it.

Just let people hope, man. Defaulting to always shitting on the world isn’t a satisfying way to live.

Spoke like one who didn't live through 9-11.

What shtick?
What 'hope' do you glean out of any of this? it's "almost" like you didn't watch the trailer. It's getting ratio'd, btw, but never mind that. What 'joke' landed for you?
Was it the grandma who didn't know how to drive? (Because she wasn't ALLOWED to back in the old country)
Was it the ridiculous and overtly racist statement that 'being yourself is WHITE PRIVILEGE' ?
Oh, I know, "Now is not a good time to be at airports looking like us"!
Or taping shoes on and wearing them indoors?
Comedy gold.
And this Amazon series isn't "The world". I'm not shitting on the world, I'm shitting on this garbage concept of a comedy and its so called message.

This shtick…
I’m not going to explain my taste in comedy to you, that’s obviously a self-defeating exercise. How about, just for once, you try to not be an active a-hole to everyone who doesn’t fall lockstep in line with your default rejection of all forms of modern entertainment. That “shtick” is what’s old and weak.

what is known about 'current day' stuff,

That's kinda the point. Glad you picked up on that.

That show is using 9/11 for comedy and Muslim sympathy.
Do you know how insulting that is?

Never heard of him. And judging from the clip, it means to play the victim card for Muslims after 9-11 while inserting cringy, unfunny jokes.
Yes, it's OUR fault they feel sad and threatened. Colossal manipulative bullshite.

Was anything in there funny?

No, not at all.
This show is the embodiment of this joke:
Side note: When I saw the title I was hoping it was about a Chinese restaurant.

We must be more American! "Tonight, we wear shoes in the house!"

Comedy always offends someone if it's good. You're reading too much into the trailer, and missed some funny stuff because you were too busy clutching your pearls.

No, 9/11 aside, I didn’t see anything funny.

Wrong. See Nate Bargatze. And I say that as someone who loves crude and offensive humor.

You really thought that was funny? Because I know a lot of people who don’t wear shoes all over the house. It’s not just an Eastern thing.
