He's mid, but you don't have a choice this year unless you eat everyone else's numbers. You're better off letting guys like Mathieu finish these contracts than deciding to restructure to move money in the future.
At the last you still have a starting Qb until Moore gets his guy

I mean we kinda have to restructure him in order to get cap compliant by next week.

So cut Carr, and what? Restructure badger, cam, Davis, and who else? If the saints play this smart by limiting the damage to just Carr, the light at the tunnel could be near. If they tie up 4-5 old guys for even longer, we stuck for real

Lol you’re not missing anything. You have to remember the saints board cool kids live in their own reality.

Mascona is an idiot and doesn’t know much about the nfl game.

It's a 2 year process (the shortest possible) if you cut Carr and extend those other guys.
Next year you use Carr's savings to cut those guys.
That's the best you can do and you probably ensure a very high draft pick next year since you give up your starting QB.
It's the right move.

He’s actually spot on but whatever helps you sleep at night

If he or you think they are keeping Carr because they think they will see something different, you are missing the point that cutting Carr now costs too much money. It is that simple.
There are times when your cap space will dictate what you do more than your personnel needs when it comes to veterans in the NFL.

I don't understand.
Right now, here's the dead cap for those older guys for 2026...
Cam 14.9
Davis 8.7
Mathieu 7.2
What do those numbers go up to if we restructure them?

I still remember driving one day and listening to him go on a tangent similar to this about how bad mark Ingram was and how’d he pick at least 25 running backs over him and then proceeded to name them.
Ingram went to the pro bowl that year and ended up the Saints all time leading rusher. A few of the running backs he named got waived before the season.
Like I said, he may know the college game and lsu, but he’s out of his depth when it comes to the nfl game.

Loomis has us so cap fricked that we’re forced to keep the same old shitty team together

There are few people more annoying than Moscona. He's Lester Earl on radio

Wrong? No. Carr is a mid tier QB. But what is his point here? He's not saying anything that the normal thinkers don't already know. He's just doing it in his super annoying, low IQ way. Moscona is such a tool

what more do i need to see? I see a very capable starting nfl qb in this league when he's healthy and paired with offensive talent. he's throwing petulant tantrum during circumstances that carr has both played hurt, with dog shite outside talent and combined with off and on horrific injuries on the O line at times.
he's getting paid bottom shelf starting monies in the league at this time.
what moscona is completely missing is helping carr both with coaching and upgrading the receiving positions.
