Secretary Of State Rubio: Zelenskyy Is A Liar & An Unreliable Partner

Just watched the clip of his interview with Herridge:
“I had a detailed conversation with Zelenskyy, the Vice President and I, the three of us, about the mineral rights deal. We explained to them, look, we want to be in a joint venture with you not because we’re trying to steal from your country but because we see this as an actual security guarantee between the US and Ukraine. And he said, sure, we will do this deal, it makes sense. I need to run it through my legislative process. They have to approve it. I read two days later that Zelenskyy says I rejected the deal, I told them no way, we’re not going to do it. Well, that’s not what happened in that meeting. So, you’re starting to get a picture of the person we’re dealing with.”

Rubio and Bessent did a good job explaining this on the talk show circuit this weekend. I have to admit that I bought the propaganda at first and thought Trump and JD undressing of Z was a terrible look. Now, I understand the whole thing was supposed to be a photo op to sign that deal. They felt double crossed when it was clear he was fricking around. I want to know who Z took orders from to muck up the works. He was clearly trying to get in those magic words about security guarantees.

Deals are signed in a room somewhere before the press conference in the Oval Office .

“The tragedy of Friday, and I don’t know what Zelenskyy was thinking, we had the President of France Emmanuel Macron in on Monday, great meeting. We had Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Thursday, fantastic meeting. They were all on board and supportive of the details of the peace agreement. All Zelenskyy had to do was come in, sign this agreement that we had shared with him beforehand, and, again, showed no daylight, no daylight between the American people and the Ukrainian people, and he chose to blow that up.”
“So the deal is no longer on the table?
“Not at present, no.”

Whether out of political conviction or convenience, Rubio has been the biggest surprise of anyone on Trump’s current team IMO. Rubio was a mini-McCain in 2016.

I shite you not I was going to post the same thing. He was what, the first or second cabinet member announced after election? I was a huge critic when he was announced but he has been by far the biggest surprise of this cabinet. I know it’s early but he has been incredible.
I hope it was out of political conviction he made this change. He and Vance are critical to the party post Trump.

An egomaniac like Zelensky will get a lot of people killed unecessarily. He cares more about himself than his country. He failed to realize that Trump was the best friend he had and he screwed that up big time.
