March 17th is when we need to cut Carr by to keep him from getting another $30M guaranteed

If he can pass a physical before then and the cut is based on performance, not injury related.

I don't care what it ultimately does to the Cap. I just don't want Carr and his family getting $1 more in cash from this org. (and indirectly Saints Fans) than needed.

Sounds like best case for Derek is for him not to pass his physical.

Why do you hate Carr so much.

Also, why did you draw the line in the sand at Carr instead of Jordan, Matheau, Peat, Hill, Ruiz, Lattimore, etc.

These Carr melts are just weird and stupid.

Most of his receivers were hurt this year and the interior oline was hurt most of the year and we had our worse lineman that was benched two years in a row playing an entire new position along with a rookie college RT that we played at LT.

And he managed to not have a losing record all the while having a top ten qb rating.
Then gets hurt trying to actually win. And you idiots are melting over him not being on the roster. Mahomes, Burrow or Josh Allen ain’t walking through that door.

We should have never signed him due to our cap situation. But you should be hating on Loomis not Carr. Carr is what he is.

Blame it on the line, wide receivers, Dennis allen and everyone else but Carr. Most people realize Carr is a bum but whether that’s true is irrelevant. Either this team isn’t good enough for Carr or Carr isn’t good enough for this team. Either way he’s getting older and it’s insane to waste another second on him.

Plenty of hate for Loomis here, and it is all warranted. He is the one who gave Carr soooo much. Carr has been a $25-30M QB; and I can't blame him for taking the big contract Mickey offered.

At this point I'd rather cut/trade everybody that is too expensive to allow us to build a winner in 2-3 years.

That may never happen if Mickey stays and keeps it business as usual. He is Gail's biggest problem.

plus his talent level and asking price. I’m young enough to remember when this board was loaded with people loving the signing and mocking those who said it was a bad deal.

Here’s the reality:

Carr is an average QB that most teams would be happy to have as their QB at a mid tier contract while they wait for the opportunity to get a true franchise QB.

Also we are stuck with him, because our only other options would be to sign another mid level QB to franchise level money or to draft a sub par one and have a significant risk of wasting a high draft pick and being stuck with no good option for the near future.

As fans we would love to see them drop Carr, take a chance with Rattler and most likely lose enough to draft top 5 next year; however, no coach looks at a season as a chance to lose out. They all coach and play to win, and keeping Carr right now is the most logical scenario for 2025

Hate to break it to you but he is being paid as a mid tier qb. He’s 18th on the list, only starting qb behind him is Baker and Darnold. And Darnold will likely jump him this offseason. And Baker is definitely going to break the bank when his contract is up. All the others are qbs on rookie contracts who will probably be paid twice his salary when their contracts are up. (Stroud, Daniels, Nix, Maye, Purdy etc)

Outside of rookies, hes one of the lowest paid veteran starting qbs in the league and yall still bitchin lol.

Loomis had the chance to get our cap cleaned up and get someone cheap or drafted a rookie to play for peanuts and he didn’t. Carr isn’t the problem, it’s the man making the decisions.

Looks does what the coaches want. Carr is here because Moore wants him.

You’re spot on with everything else though.

Carr is here b/c Allen wanted him. Moore doesn’t have much of a choice. It may not even be possible to cut him in reality.

They are going to restructure Carr to a pretty substantial paycut. Carr absolutely DOES NOT want to go to FA.

Id predict somewhere between 27-31.

its not Carr's fault that we are in franchise hell. He's not All pro, but we have to work through it at this point.

Our OL has to get better and stay healthy.
We dont have a true WR1
TE is just ok.

my 2 cents.

He’s made 169 career starts and carries a career winning percentage of 45%

If it’s not the injury excuse it’s oh he’s played for the Raiders, the HC sucks, the OC sucks, he’s played with no talent, no OL, bad defenses. He’s started 11 years in the league and yall got an excuse for everything. Buddy has never had a positive break

He's average and we are not going anywhere this year. I wish they would cut him but I'm 99.9999% sure they won't. The FO wants to win games now and he's the best option we have.

Let’s give him the benefit of the doubt. Let’s say he had a career of bad breaks with the raiders….

After making a ton of money with them he had the chance to leave and play for someone he could win with.

He chose to play for Dennis Allen and an aging cap strapped team….

He’s in it for a paycheck which is fine, I would be too. But he’s a career loser who is lucky he’s a QB.

Folks forget the Raiders made him the highest paid player in NFL history at one point

We made him top 10 highest paid by AAV when we signed him. Looks “better” now bc of the cap increase and a bunch of good QBs coming up on new deals. He still carries the top or near top of cap hits on the team. He’s been paid like a guy that was expected to elevate a team and he’s never shown to be that guy. He will go down as the highest paid player to not win a SB after Cousins. As it stands now he’s 16th in career earnings all time. Just highway robbery. Good on him, these teams are fricking brain dead
