Just seems more emphasis on Pitching and Defense IMO.

Wow … 28 (top) vs 9

Hopefully that gap will close considerably come SEC time. Well at least we aren’t reliant on the long ball. Just win, baby.

That’s not a great sign for us going into SEC play. No other way to spin it.

BA - 6th
OPS - 6th 13th in HR and 6th in OPS screams XBH.
Runs scored - 2nd (isn’t the goal to score runs? Only chicks dig the long ball.)
ERA - 4th
Fielding % - 2nd

Summary - good to great defense, good to great pitching, score lots of runs…

We just had 17 hits and scored 10 runs last night without a HR or 3B. Ask any baseball coach and they’d take that over. 10 runs on 11 hits and having to rely on the long ball to get those runs

People lack baseball knowledge that don’t understand those stats.

Also we have a top 20 victory against a quality pitching staff as well as two more victories against teams that will probably be in the tournament.

A lot of these other teams are beating up on scrubs and padding stats. The pressure this offense puts on teams is amazing. A lot to be excited about!

I’m with you. I would add K% to that too. I feel like this team does a good job of putting the ball in play as well and that goes a long way in low scoring games

LSU has also played in at least 2 pro size ball parks, where multiple balls have gone to the warning track. I wonder how those stats would look if you considered park size?

That plus the wind has been blowing in almost every game at the box.

The ball doesn’t travel for shite in cold humid games in Feb at the box especially with wind blowing in.

They’ve hit some in these bigger parks that would be out at just about every SEC park.

There were 4 yesterday that get out the box
