If he got that bunt down then that’s a completely different inning. So close

Yeah it was close. No player is bigger than the team. If he gets runner over he scores eventually. That's something these downvoting pencil/paper arses don't understand.

It is February baseball. Larson isn’t a typical 3 hole hitter. He is a hitter in the 3 hole.

Yap, great bunt attempt with the 3 hole that cost him his AB. Definitely a good move. You know ball

If jay is doing that to work on situations, im all for it

If he actually thinks bunting the 3hole early in a game is a good baseball play I want him to share his shrooms

What the frick does that have to do with anything

What you don’t understand is they are passing on the opportunity for even more runners to score.

ill let jay know. Got it. Everybody knows more than the coach who brought a title to LSU. Also has multiple appearances in the cws.

you never played sports. The player does what the coach asks of him and executes it to the best of his ability "for the team". According to you people , "but he is the 3 hole, you don't do that blah blah". He has a role on a "team". Something you idiots will never understand.

so what's your other analysis of the other 11/12 outs this far? Jay should just pack it up and leave right? He knew this would be a close game and he was trying to push a runner closer to home. Looks like it was the correct call. It didnt work but the other at bats aren't either. Remember this is a "team" sport. Not who can go yard whenever they want.

-Bunts have a 49.6% success rate no matter the situation

-Sacrifice Bunts have a 70-80% success rate

- runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out score at a rate in the mid 60%

There’s no scenario where a batting average is going to surpass that math so when you see people trying to use “math” as a reason to exclude bunting completely they’re just repeating bad information they’ve read somewhere. It’s a philosophical argument only, there is no math to support it.
