LSU coach Matt McMahon on Trey'Dez Green:
"He has a heavy academic workload this semester, so I think in collaboration with coach (Brian) Kelly, it's just the best thing for him right now, put his attention there and lock in on the academic side."

Needs to be academically eligible for football. Probably the right call. It’s not like his absence is going to make us miss the dance.

Good for him. Get those grades up so you can dominate both sports. I’d rather him step away then get suspended and be ruled ineligible

Smart. I wouldn't blame him if he just didn't want to play for McMahon.

Smart move. Not worth risking academic issues or injuries, with absolutely nothing to play for under McMahon.

i hope it isn't because his grades are in jeopardy

I don't understand why they are even required to go to school now that they get paid, de facto free agency, etc. It's essentially NFL minor league

Ok.
This reads more like a lack of playing time and an assessment of risk vs reward playing for this particular basketball team. Don't risk your more important football season playing garbage minutes for a bottom dweller basketball team. Rest up for spring ball.

I think he is a pretty smart kid. Don't quote me but I think he had a 3.9/4.0ish GPA coming out of HS.

This totals what? 7 kids leaving the team during the season in the last 3 years?

We have the most gullible fans of all time.

Never miss a chance to shite on McMahon
Pretty clear that 2 SEC roadtrips last week were going to impact his academics. Football is the priority for him & not worth the few mins/game he was playing

Yes but you can’t talk about it.

Hopefully he can get it straight. Good move by him because he's a big part of our football team

spring practice is way more beneficial to him then playing on this basketball team
from a raw standpoint he does have a future in hoops if he played full time

With NIL, we are just a few years from living Cardale Jones' dream... "We ain't come her to play school."
