the vast majority of workers in the U.S. don’t get to enjoy. And still cry about being forced “back to the office”.

DOGE can’t trim the fat from this bloated and entitled workforce soon enough.

I don't know that I'd call Presidents' Day "another BS holiday", but it doesn't help matters that government workers & the banks get a minimum of one paid day off a month, it seems.

Yeah, make this the "holiday" the one used to make room for a national election day day-off from work to go vote.

If half the working public doesn’t get the day off the government folks should have to work.

Yeah, most folks don't get a paid holiday as part of their regular comp package until Memorial Day.

Some of you miserable fricks must just hate your family and live to work. Maybe private sector needs to catch up on providing holidays commensurate with the rest of the developed world?

Everyone else is working, yet I can’t go to the bank because we need to celebrate that we have presidents I guess.

I also love when I need to go to the bank on Veterans Day, and as a veteran I can’t because the bank employees need celebrate that I served.

There are indeed too many holidays like this.

I think some of you should go down and shite on some govt workers' desks and their cars, find out where they live and do donuts in their yards, make sure to let the entire world know just how much you hate them. If you're going to throw the midterms to the Dems by continually assaulting the federal worker for things that none of them have control of, you may as well go all the way.

This seems a bit extreme. Expressing my opinion on a political message board seems sufficient for now.

I understand getting annoyed at feds when they whine about pay or workload or something and ignore all the conveniences of working for the government

I also understand being annoyed at teachers on the same basis

I don't really understand you dudes who are just sitting around being angry at the concept of federal holidays or the fact that Summer exists

I don't mind celebrating the fact that we ended slavery. I just wish it was ok for us whites to celebrate it without "stealing the culture" or whatever.

We still had to work. But they gave us an additional 8 hours.

Sounds like a lot of individuals made poor choices in their lives so they want to complain, wine, throw shade on people who made better career choices other than working at Wally World or the local gas station , not that is a bad thing. Lol

Our school system posted a tribute to Obama under the auspices of President’s Day / Black History Month. We are about 55% white. I called my friend on the Board and told him the local private school just gained 10 more kids for next year. He said he knew, he had heard it from others and passed it along to the superintendent. (The post is still up.)
I told him I wanted a post from the school system honoring the current sitting president noting that he had survived multiple assassination attempts. He said he would pass it along.
