Anakeesta is a lot of fun
if there isnt snow you could go on a small hike
good breakfast places
lots of touristy shops to go to, tastings at distilleries
we went to Dixie Stampede(I didn't care for it personally but wife and kids loved it)

Is Mardi Gras a thing there? I hope yall have a great time but I dont' remember Mardi Gras being anywhere but the Gulf coast, NOLA, and Saint Louis.
Most other cities have Mardi Gras parties that remind me of a scene from "The Office" party planning committee. Come in, have your piece of sponge cake from the walmart bakery, and be back at your desk in 30 minutes. Don't get too excited.

The guy most likely lives in south Louisiana and the kids get off from school. So he’s not expecting Mardi Gras in Gatlinburg.

I guess that went over your head.

Make sure Dollywood is open the days that you are there. I'm not sure it opens 7 days-a-week in March.
Obviously hiking in the Smokey's.
Day trip to the Biltmore (if it's open)?
Day trip to Knoxville?

Is that some kind of week-long marijuana festival?

This is the perfect time of year to go. Off season deals at just about every business. Last week of Feb last year we got a resort room next to the aquarium for almost nothing. All the restaurants, mini-golfs, and arcades had like BOGO specials or all you can play for cheap.

I thought Anakeesta was one of the most over priced and overrated places I've been. You have to pay extra for everything that really matters. We also happened to be there and have a thunderstorm hit. They were still allowing people to come up the lift (us) and when we got up there, almost everything had been closed. Way too many people and no way to get off the mountain. Also nowhere to take cover from the storm. It took us over 2 hours to get down the mountain in their little trucks that hold about 24-30 people. No order to the lines. At least an hour of that was standing in line in the storm with thunder and lightning. I was very disappointed in their handling of it.
I'm sure it's fun if you don't mind spending a lot and if you go on a day that isn't super crowded. Just make sure there aren't any storms in the area.

Agreed, Anakeesta sucked when we went couple years ago. Have been back to area but not there.

Crockett's breakfast camp for a badass breakfast
If it is a nice day, Anakeesta would be nice
Dollywood will be closed
The Island in PF is a decent way to spend half a day or so
We did an Escape Room while there and it was surprisingly very fun. The kids loved it

Took 2 boys, 19 and 16 a couple years ago and we had fun. Rented an ATV, they are street legal there, and drove to Cades Cove in Smokey Mountain National Park and saw some bears. Took an ATV mountain tour, road in the mud up some trails and had a blast. Went to Dollywood, that was the nicest and cleanest amusement park I've ever been too and the food was great! I second Davey Crockets Breakfast. Did white water rafting, had a great time but I'm not sure they do that this time of year, the water was cold in June, couldn't imagine doing that now. Rode the chairlift up to walk across the suspension bridge, that was a cool experience, there are glass planks in the middle, we had fun watching people freak out trying to walk across. There is a lot of other things to do in Gatlinburg, the main strip if full of touristy things to do not to mention Pigeon Forge isn't far away with lots of things to do there as well.
