Good. We need Russia closer to us rather than being close with China. I'm sure they'd rather that also, but.... they know in 4 years there could be another lunatic progressive as POTUS.
Pushing Russia away the last 20 ish years was a great foreign policy failure.
As it stands, Russia has insulated itself from the sanctions, much to do with its forced relations with China.

In theory.. is it possible that Russia isn't the "bad guy" as we have been told all our lives? I'm not saying their a "good guy".. but maybe we've been fed propaganda to justify the additional spending on x, y and z..

Putin is a gangster, have no illusions.
But Stalin was a much bigger gangster and we managed to work with him.

The Soviets were bad guys. Murderers, atheists and sponsored a lot of the bullshite we are dealing with today to weaken America.
Trust but verify was Reagan’s credo. It is still the same today. But what has changed is that our “allies” like the UK are no better.
You can only effect change by talking. Reagan talked to Gorbachev. Trump will talk to Putin and things will improve. Biden did nothing but fan the flames.
I don’t know if Russia will ever be our buddy, but let’s not be enemies. It happened before and can again between people that respect each other.

pump the brakes kid. They've been our enemy for a long time. They may not be as bad now, but they earned their reputation. And i don't think, in this global economy, any country is your "friend". We are truly on our own which is why its nice to have a President who wants to put America first.

Pretending Russia doesn’t exist is a huge component of Moscow’s actions. The West has excluded them, so they’re seeking alternatives.

Right now the UK will arrest citizens who say critical things about migrants. Ask Tommy Robinson.
Right now Germany is looking to ban a political party it disagrees with and the next Chancellor is vowing to punish Elon Musk for his speech.
Countries that do this are NOT our allies.
