Payton and Shannahan brought a few guys they were familiar with when they took over, specifically guys on offense that know their systems. Here are some UFAs that he could target to bring with him.

Mekhi Becton - OL - Eagles - Could solve our LG problem.
Avonte Maddox - CB - Eagles - Nickle corner that DeJean pushed out of rotation
Milton Williams - DL - Eagles - DT that showed out in the Superbowl.
CJ Uzomah - TE - Eagles - Veteran TE
Parris Cambell - WR - Eagles - Vet WR that has shown some flashes in career.
Kenneth Gainewell - RB - Eagles - Replacement for Williams / Miller.
Josh Palmer - WR - Chargers - Complement to Olave / Shaeed.
Cooper Rush - QB - Dallas - If we move on from Carr, he could be the bridge guy.
Rico Dowdle - RB - Dallas - Another RB option.

I like the Becton Idea but I'm sure the Eagles will do whatever they can to keep that line intact.

None of these guys will command big money. These are the Terrance Copper type guys you sign for near minimum (Rush excluded).

They had salary cap room.

Saints should be playing with rookies and USFL players in 2025 and cut bait with every vet they can without further adding to the cap.

If they move on from Carr this is likely what they will have to do far a year. Unless they manage to convince one of the NY teams to trade for him as a bridge QB.

We will have cap room. Again, we won't be signing any marque guys, but to assume Loomis won't sign a couple of vets to fill out the rosters is naive.

I like the Cooper Rush idea as a bridge QB.
Eat Carr cap hit, let Rush and Rattler battle it out. No matter what, we are looking at a top 10 pick for our QB of the future next year.

Exactly.

The only only correct answer here is 0. We need to hope we can trade off some of the boat anchors we have and go young.

They have gone years of being 100 million over the cap. Yall are over exaggerating a bit.

To think they will just stand pat and not sign a single player is absurd

You cannot just have Rattler. Maybe it’s not Rush but you have to bring in a competent backup. Rush knows Kellen Moores system and so he makes sense as a bridge QB.

Seeing if Rattler has a future is important but you need a decent veteran to help develop the other players in case Rattler gets injured or is just awful. I don’t expect to win much next year but it doesn’t have to be a wasted year of development. If we just had Haener as backup, that would benefit no one.
