Unpopular opinion: Overhead bins in airplanes should be eliminated.

The boarding and deplaning process has to be the most inefficient thing in this country that’s not named USAID. Just check your bags and wait for them at the carousel. It would take less time. Exceptions could be made for 1st or Business class sections maybe. The airlines would make a lot more money turning these planes around twice as fast and I wouldn’t have to watch a bunch of retards try to figure out how to get their bags out of a bin.

I actually agree with you for domestic flights. You should be able to bring everything you need in an under the seat bag. Every international airport I’ve even been in the bags are either already on or only minutes away from the carousel by the time you get there.

They were spending millions upon millions of my money on random at best pet projects at worst slush funds for self enrichment.

I think the size of them should be reduced. Decent people are stuck between airline executives with their fees and inconsiderate cheapskates who insist on jamming their entire vacation into the overhead bins.

I fly 5 or 6 times a month. Never had anything stolen and have only had one bag delayed in my entire life. I got it the next day and that’s only because I didn’t feeling like driving to the airport to pick it the night before. It’s just not a real issue.
