Y’all ever get some surprising news from a DNA kit?

Turns out I’m 1% black. Which is interesting but also a little sad for a few of my ancestors who had to hide it I bet. Probably won’t be able to find any official documentation in early the 1800s South to figure this mystery out. Anyone else had anything like this in their tree, and how did they research it? Also just anything else cool/interesting/weird?
And, yes, I know “don’t give your DNA away” I get it, just give stories if you’ve done it please.

1% is enough for all your family members to check the box for black when taking tests and applying for scholarships and such.
