Located in Mississippi. I've been and absolutely love this place, anyone else been? I'm considering bringing the in-laws to try it out.

Yes, my in-laws are from McComb, MS, so we have been several times. There is nothing else like their fried eggplant! YUM!

I take a yearly road trip up through Mississippi once a year to eat at all the great places they have-- Mammy's Cupboard, Lorman Country Store, Bourbon Mall, Crystal Grill, Two Sisters, The Dinner Bell, Big Apple, Teepee BBQ, Mama Hamil's... the list goes on

I used to have relatives in McComb, but The Dinner Bell, good as they say it is, is not my cup of sweet tea. Wife loves bland country cooking, it just bores me.
I can enjoy any spice based cuisine, British or rural American? Yawn.

The Dinner Bell provided my family with one of those experiences you talk about for years when I was a little boy. We were passing through town and ate lunch there when during the meal, my brother was reaching for the last piece of fried chicken on the plate on the lazy susan, and all of a sudden this really huge lady at the end of the table gave it a huge spin and took that last piece for herself. We still laugh to this day about it.

Went there a lot growing up with family. I hated the wait outside, but it was so worth it. Loved the fried chicken, field peas, fried eggplant, and chicken and dumplings. Good times.

Like sick people coughing on my food....really depends on your table...never take a spoonfull of anything...remove the dish and then spoon on your plate or you will be searching for that spoon the rest of dinner.
