For those following MMA, this is not a great card, but it has Sean Strickland on it and he is going after DDP, he has thoughts on Bryce Mitchell, he did an interview with Helen Yee and insulted the Chinese and implied he might get a happy ending from her for $5, he has called Khamzat a whore, referred to someone in the media as a gay pirate, and it's only Tuesday.

Strickland should worry more about winning fights than running his mouth.

He's on a pretty good win streak, judges just robbed him of his title.

Nah he lost that fight. It was a close fight but I thought dricus won. Robbery shouldn’t be used in the context of this fight it was extremely close.

Dricus was gifted that fight. He took Strickland down a few times and got zero damage while holding him down. Strickland turned Dricus' face into minced meat. Strickland outstruck and outdamaged him 4/5 rounds. I mean, Strickland wasn't even damaged at all. That was a complete robbing.

why do you act like strickland was not damaged during the fight? he had cuts on both eyes that were bleeding pretty bad and a cut on his hairline.

Strickland has gone off about the judging because of that fight. I have no idea who's going to win that fight.

It was a very close fight. For the record the media also scored it in favor of dricus but again it was almost an even split. not a robbery or a gift. Ill rewatch before the weekend and see if I still agree with my original thoughts on it.

Very close fight, thought Strickland won, but definitely not a robbery.

I think this overall card looks great. Bunch of younger or less known fighters.

Cut on the eye was from a head butt , he did way more damage to dricus than dricus did to him . After the cut on his eye he had a lot of trouble seeing so he did get caught more but he still out struck him and probably should have won. I wouldn't call it a robbery but it was Strickland's fight .

Can anyone share the best cards in UFC history please?

Also, if anyone could name some of the best fights in history I’d appreciate it.

Name as many as you’d like. I don’t care about what division it is. I just want action.

Thanks

Shitty card but I’m not off for many PPVs so I’ll be buying this bad boy.

I watched the first fight for the first time yesterday. It was really, really, really close and I’d hate to be those judges. The only obvious rounds were DDP winning round 4 and Strickland winning round 5. DDP did the most damage of the fight between either fighter in round 4. On one hand Strickland out struck him on the cards but 90% of it were jabs. DDP scored a few takedowns and pushed the pace. But, I’m under the impression that to win a decision over the champ it’s got to be obvious and that wasn’t obvious enough. Strickland probably should have kept the belt. The most impressive thing I took away from the fight other than both fighters cardio was Stricklands ability to check kicks. He pretty much checked every single one of DDPs kicks. He’s got to be more agressive though. His last 2 fights have been death by jab and he hasn’t landed a big shot since Izzy.

I watched the countdown today and Strickland has a ton of respect for DDP he knows he’s a tough dude and hard to put away, he even said before the first fight that it would probably go the distance. Hopefully he gets more agressive this go around.

Zhang looks like she’s been doing a lot of weight lifting to prepare for Tatiana’s wrestling. I initially thought Tatiana could bully her on the ground but Zhang looks fricking jacked in the countdown episode so now I’m not so sure. Should be an interesting fight. Everything else on the card is tomato cans. Seems like they could have got 1 more ranked fight for the main card

Lawler vs McDonald is probably the best fight of all time.

Griffin vs Bonnar 1
Jiri vs Texiera
Korean zombie vs Mendez 1
Sanchez vs Guida

UFC 189 is my all time favorite. You had the Lawler vs McDonald fight plus 2 of the greatest walkouts of all time between Conor and Mendes. Then the rest of the main card were big KOs including a flying knee IIRC

Best fight I ever saw was Henderson vs showgun. Maybe not the most technical but it was the most exciting. Bigfoot vs hunt close second.

Hard to say the best cards. Some of these cards seem great but are not as good as you hope and then others are packed with surprises, drama, great performances. I have a real fondness for the days with SpikeTV, when PPV's weren't as often. Gave you a lot of time to learn about the fighters and styles before the events.
One of the craziest fights ever

Agree that it isn't the most attractive card based solely off of names but sometimes the bigger name fights don't end up being that great. I can think of a few times I had friends over to watch the big fight which turned out to be a dud. Sometimes the lesser name guys who you don't even know can be entertaining.

Jones vs Gane for example. In 60 seconds he had him against the fence and in about 45 more seconds later it was over. The true fight fans probably still enjoyed it but the casual fan, not so much.
