We are about to see the best version of Luka. Boy is about to eat so many avocados and star in a movie or 2. People talk about Super Max like that matters when you get royalties from bigger pies in Hollywood.

That doesn't make any sense. If they dealt Luka for the typical rebuilding haul, then it would make sense. They dealt him as a "win now" move, though. That decision is why there was a delta in the value received and value expected.

Meh

Im sure they want to build their casino in the DFW area

But vegas seems like an empty threat because Vegas already has 2 new arenas and is flush with casinos

Another arena and casino for an nba team seems dumb

It makes perfect sense when you take basketball out of equation. They need the threat of Mavs moving to get their casino approved. Moving Luka will help them be bad in 2027. That gets attention of legislators and they approve casino with Mavs part of it and stay.

Its a bigger picture than basketball to the owners.

Vegas does not have an NBA team. So at worst they lose on Dallas casino and move to Vegas in a new one. At best they get a casino in Dallas.

Fans suffer but they really don’t care about basketball.

NBA does some wild stuff but moving a team from one of the largest TV markets in the country in the middle of a ratings crash seems a bit unrealistic to actually think will happen

They aren't trying to win. They want to kill the fan base Major League style so if Texas doesn't legalize gambling they can justify moving the team in a couple years. They sent a 25 year old top 5 player who is coming off a Finals appearance to the LA Lakers to grease the wheels w/the league by helping their sagging ratings. Now the league will owe them one. Hell, this benefits Nico Harrison too. He's from Nike who is also dealing w/poor sales. He just sent a massive merch mover to the LA fricking Lakers so they are about to sell an assload of shite. He even said himself int he presser he's not going to be in Dallas in 4 years anyway. Dude can just hop right back to Nike after this is done.

Mavs fans got massively fricked by a bunch of colluding greedy assholes. I'm happy I got to see Dirk win a title b/c even if the Mavs stay in Dallas there is almost no chance they win a title w/this ownership and GM. Lol at Nico saying the Mavs have a 3-4 year window when it's probably now a guarantee Kyrie opts out and heads to LA.

Moving it to Vegas would be a great move and I can see that angle

Dallas gets an expansion team when/if the Mavs move to Vegas.
