After battlefield 5 and 2042 I’m not sure why anyone has hope for the next game being good. All the old talented devs are long gone

i have hope for the simple fact that COD is stale and heading in the wrong direction. We need a real competitor to the COD series, I don’t care who it is.

Because they put the series in the hands of a man who's responsible for the most criminally underrated shooters of all time and who was a big part of arguably the best COD of all time, Modern Warfare 2. And Zampella is on record saying he knows what people want from Battlefield and has vowed to return the series to that. If they let him cook, it has potential.

The formula for success for BF is found between BC2 and BF3. It isn’t rocket science. They could hire me and I could cook. Whose job is it to approve all the moves made in 2024? I redownloaded it the other day and the fricking menu’s alone made me uninstall before I finished a single match.
It’s amazing how everyone’s favorite games in the CoD and BF series are the simplest. What aren’t these decision makers understanding?
Don’t fricking bring in hero’s/operators or whatever you want to call them into these types of games. I want assault/support to drop ammo. I want medic to heal and revive, I want engineer to tag and destroy tanks and choppers and jets. I want sniper to piss everyone off. That’s it. No fricking wing suits. No mech dog turrets or whatever else to idiots thought would be a good idea.
No crossover when it comes to creating classes. Why let a medic carry a sniper? Do you want to encourage the medic to just sit on a mountain and heal themselves all day?
Fools.

That's why I'm hopeful with Zampella. He really seems no nonsense and has the pulse of the gaming community. Respawn did the practically impossible and made a good Star Wars game.
I'm pretty simple. Just give me a typical server browser. Don't make it effin hard to play the type of game I want to play and I'm happy. I think the shooting and mechanics for 2042 were fine, everything else surrounding it was not what this fanbase wants.

BC2, BF3 and BF4 were all great. Bring back the vehicle controls from those games. When you saw an Apache or a tank coming, you knew to run like hell and find cover. In 2042, they are just huge targets that everyone runs toward to kill. The vehicular side of the game has been forgotten, they are truly supposed to change the lay of the land and dominate the battlefield until counter units arrive. I was an awesome chopper pilot in BF4 and ruled the server when I had the right support. In 2042, the controls sucked and the vehicles were made out of cardboard.
