Disclaimer: no team that I follow won a Championship in 2020, so I’m not defending my team. (Imagine one of my teams winning a ‘Ship lol)…..anyway, just honestly wondering why/how the winning team in 2020 had some sort of advantage that year?

Don’t you know?

2020 Alabama lucked into that thing. Nothing points to Alabama being a NC worthy team. Fluked it in 2020.

The NFL season was semi legitimate. Played a full season

Every other league was mickey mouse limited schedule some in bubbles

Lebron and AD dont have the stamina to do a full season and full playoff schedule

Their only shot at a ring was that shortened bullshite

I thought NBA and NFL were fine. I don't remember hockey, other than I think Tampa Bay won. MLB and NCAA football seemed like a joke.

Shortened season

Teams that were great at the halfway point didn’t have players opt out

Teams that sucked and knew the season was toast had opt outs

Alabama played in spring game crowds. not Alabama spring game crowds. UL Lafayette spring game crowds)

For anyone discounting these titles, would you rather have had the seasons canceled altogether?

It's not that they champion had an advantage, just with shortened schedules or some leagues not even playing a game (i.e. many NCAA conferences) there's no way to know who was truly the best.

They were seasons full of ridiculous disadvantages for lots of teams and advantages for the teams that won.

An old and injured team in the Lakers got time to get healthy and then no need to travel for playoffs nor be in front of crowds.

CFB had so many optouts that Bama was the only one close to fielding their entire team. They also played a team in the title game that played 6 games and had the rules changed to put them in the title game.

It was a corrupt year of sports, and those champions won them with tons of asterisks.

Lakers title and Bama’s title were the least legit because the circumstances simply helped them and punished other teams.

No crowds, shortened seasons, could dodge games you didn't want to play/lose by saying someone had COVID and suffer no consequences

Bammer and Tampa Bays championships were legit because fans were allowed. The nba bubble title is illegitimate

Bama didnt have one opt out of Covid case.

They played every other teams 3rd string. And Ohio State barely even played a season.

All teams faced the same circumstances that year. There’s no logical reason to “discount” them. Butthurt fans came up with that narrative then some other sheep latched on.

Anyone calling the bubble title in NBA illegitimate makes me laugh. Every single player in that tournament says the exact opposite.

I hate Lebron James but that playoff run was about as even a playing field as you can possibly get. No home field advantage, just basketball.

Because LSU went 5-5 against an All-SEC schedule. It was too hard and their best player quit at the start of the season and didn't wait to the bowl game like usual.

They act like it was anomaly. They have players quit every year and they went 500. again in 2021. They actually went 6-7 that year.

Basically because Bama and Lebron won championships.

college football and NBA specifically were jokes

college football schedules and rosters were all over the place, players were held out for testing positive, opting out pre season, etc.

NBA basically took a large gap of time off and then did a quick mini tournament and called it a championship. it’s as legitimate as the NBA cup titles
