Does anyone know what sections of the arena are in the shade? I have never been. Going in April with children. All tips are welcome and appreciated! Thank you. :)

Don’t have any tips, but a former student of mine who is in Angola for murder one has apparently become quite the wrangler.

The fried chicken is really frickin' good. Also, go purchase a trinket or something from the trustees. Then on your way home, google them and see what crimes they committed. Let it be a surprise.
I purchased a small wallet from a really cool guy, who I later learned brutally murdered a woman in her home, I think with a knife and then drove her body to the swamp or some shite where he dumped it.
It's a bit of a weird feeling knowing you helped out a guy like this but when you go to the rodeo keep in mind, you're helping them all out. You just have to go into it knowing that. Just being there, you're committing an act of charity to some really abhorrent human beings.

Leave before the last act. Traffic is terrible getting out.

The only way to avoid traffic is to turn around as soon as you get there.

Heard it takes 30 years or more for some to get out.

When Burl ran the joint, things were different.

I have a beautiful painting of dogs pointing on some quail painted by a guy that blew his hood rat ex girlfriends head off with a shotgun after she broke a window on his house and put a waterhose thru his window after he wouldn’t let her in.

Is the golf course still there?

Expect to feel a bit sorry for the prinsoners who they keep in pens of chainlink fence. Also expect to feel glad they aren't free in the public anymore.

Did you buy a wallet from Derrick Todd Lee?

But this being Louisiana, I imagine the swamp is a popular dumping ground.

I've never been to it but my Dad played it and he said it's a good course and an even better pro shop. Both are run and maintained by trustees.
