Norwegian movie about the Norwegian Resistance during Nazi occupation of WW2. Outstanding film. Yes, it's in Norwegian but you can dub in English or have closed caption. Highly recommend this movie - currently sitting at 94% on Rotten tomatoes.

Just finished it and WOW! What a great story of a great person during a terrible time. Very well done and a fantastic, but intense watch.

Hmm, I looked this up. This film was released in Norway last year, so it's eligible for the upcoming Academy Awards.
But Norway's entry for Best International Feature Film is called Armand. Before announcing their submission, the Norwegian Oscar Committee releases a shortlist of three films that they will choose from, and Number 24 did not even make Norway's own shortlist.
Armand made the Academy's shortlist, but ultimately did not get a nomination.
Number 24 was the highest grossing Norwegian film in Norway in 2024, and it became the #1 non-English movie on Netflix when it was released there. So it's popular with the masses, just not with Norway's Oscar Committee. But maybe that just means that we're missing out on some other Norwegian gems.
