How do they do these same day? Are fitted over what teeth are there? Is this just a fancy new way to say dentures or are they actually attached?

Last time I got one it was like 3 visits, so IDK...

They are attached but not always a good idea to do same day. Often there is bone grafting or other stuff required to get them to integrate properly.

Yeah it took me several steps that took months in between because they had to install the base and they had to fully heal and all that. Same day would seem like a shitty (or shady) deal.

My coworker is the only person I know that has them. She did the one day first, and it was a train wreck. She had to find a surgeon who could try to fix what the one day guy screwed up.

As of 15 years ago, you usually had to have bone implants, then wait several months for those to union with your jaw, then they install the base of the implants.

I had implants from a hockey stick to the top row back from during my Jr Hockey days. Proper implants took WAY more than a day back then. I don't know about now. It think it was around 10 weeks from beginning to end. It was 4 or 5 visits in total.
I had the implants replaced with a permanent bridge two years ago and that took around 6 weeks and 4 visits.
Hope that helps.
ETA: shite is stupid expensive. Bridge was in the $7500 range when all said and done. Had some cosmetic stuff like whitening etc to match the new bridge included in that but the bulk was on the actual Impant removal and bridge work.

You want the implant to be stable, meaning not moving around in the jaw. Then if stable maybe a temporary crown is put on to act as a place holder but this crown shouldn't touch the opposite tooth. Then when all is healed the final crown can be put on.
If it was me, I'd stay away from folks advertising same-day implants. I'd get the implant, let it heal (with no temp on top), then go back for the crown.

They "can be" full denture implants.
They call it "same day" because they will create temporary "healing dentures" that you leave with on the day they pull any teeth and do bone grafting as needed. They will put in the implant post where they can if the bone structure is there. They will place other implant posts after a healing period and after enough time for the bone grafting heal up. Eventually, several months later, they will place full implant dentures over the implant posts. So calling it "same day" is a misnomer. My aunt just had this done on her upper and lower jaws.

This sounds like the OP is doing a " Lasik eye for $599" type of deal.

I have 2, but it took about 6 months to get them finished. The oral surgery has about an 8 week healing period. You have to eat soup, scrambled eggs during this time, no chewing. The jaw bone has to grow around the implant. It can take longer if you have to have a bone graft. After that you have to go back to the dentist for any work that is required on adjoining teeth. He fits you with the final crown. The mold they made was a lot of fun! I don’t see how this can be done in one visit.

6 months of eating only soup???

Took me 6 months for 2. 3/4 visits, $6,000 - ouch. Mine are great - better than my real teeth.

This has to be bullshite:
I had three done two years ago:
Step 1 Oral Surgeon has to remove any tooth remaining and places a bone graft in the hole.
Step 2 After 6-8 weeks (for graft to grow) they go in and put the hardware post etc.
Step 3 Your dentist adds a crown which has to be made by a specialist.
Step 4 After insurance you pay $13,000.00
These MF’ers better last a lifetime

No, it was the first 8-10 weeks. I had to go back to the oral surgeon for follow ups and he would gradually increase the type of food. You don’t want to chew much, because you will have to allow the bone to grow around the implants.

3 visits over a 3 month period. Anything less, you should avoid.

Cross-arch stability. If you have no teeth they can do 6 or so implants say in the top jaw and anchor a denture to it immediately sometimes until the implants fully integrate and then you have the denture switched out to something more durable like zirconia

They don't unless you're talking about only the screw(implant). That doesn't include the abutment or crown .
