Breaking: The Miami Heat are suspending Jimmy Butler indefinitely, sources tell Shams Charania.

Per Shams...appears to have stemmed from walking out of another shoot around.

quote:

The Miami Heat are suspending forward Jimmy Butler without pay for an indefinite period of time after the disgruntled star walked out of practice Monday, the team announced.

It's the third time Butler has been suspended by the Heat in recent weeks, and it comes after he was expected to return from his second suspension Monday night against the Orlando Magic. The Heat said the latest suspension will last at least five games, which will take it through the NBA's trade deadline Feb. 6.

He was willing to give up his pay over a perceived diss. Good for him

Pat Riley would rather he stay at home than bend to his will.

I feel this is some.misplaced anger from the Lebron era.

Or maybe he doesn’t want a star player to strong arm his way outta there like he’s already done to another organization?

(I have not one clue about this situation)

Jimmy has gotten old and has yet to realize that his age has robbed him of leverage.

Teams aren't lighting the Heat's phones up trying to make deals to trade for him, especially with the new CBA financial rules.

The only suitor seems to be the Suns and with Beal's no-trade clause, the facts that the Heat don't want Beal and that it'll take a 4-5 team deal to make a trade work...not good odds for that.

Riley tried building a team around Jimmy filled with G Leaguers, on/off Herro, undersized Bam at C. They got destroyed every Finals appearance because of being undersized and lack of pure talent. Jimmy should be pissed if he's expected to play on a budget without a legitimate team.

I'm with Pat on this one

They need to trade him, but they also don't need to placate him and ship him where he wants just be rid of him, either.

Both those dudes are better than Jimmy now

This season Jimmy makes more than Giannis, Lebron, AD, Trae young, Luka, Haliburton, Anthony Edwards, Ja, Bam, Tatum, Donovan Mitchell.

Jimmy probably could have retired with a statue built in Miami or something if he wanted. Yet he has seemed hell bent on blowing up every ounce of good grace he had with the organization.

He's basically done it everywhere that he's been. They can't be surprised that it's happening to them.

Yeah, except he was good then and not making $50 million in this CBA environment.

The market is not going to be kind to him when he opts out.
