I have a lot of empathy for alcoholics and their issues.. however, this dude is in so far over his head that it’s only a matter of time before he hits the bottle, and HARD .

You realize most of those stories were fake right? 5 anonymous sources vs dozens of on the record sources saying he never drank on the job or showed up hungover.
He also has been married to the same woman for a while now, people can change when they hit their 40s.

Well that’s the situation every time with every confirmed appointee, regardless who occupies the WH. There’s nothing really special about that scenario, it’s just understood. I believe the original question was asked from the perspective of a presumption that there’s already something there that’s just waiting to go south. That’s my question back to OP, what would make Hegseth any different than any other “typical” cabinet appointee situation? I don’t think anyone would disagree that should Hegseth be an outright failure, and there being a decent amount of time remaining in the term, that replacement would be a strong likelihood.
