Cubans have virtually no chill with things like this. He's got a lot of fight for 70, too.

Only if our FBI and CIA stay compromised. The cartels are arms of those agencies and have always been protected. If the FBI and CIA are clean, the cartels would be obliterated within the USA.

So they’re dangerous and inclined to do bad things to us, but we should leave them alone and hope it doesn’t get worse as they get stronger and flood our streets with fentanyl?

Would you apply the same logic to the Islamic terrorists? Just leave them alone and hope for the best?

Because the cartels have killed more Americans in a year than AQ has in my entire life.

POTUS2024 is just a weak person. Too weak to run an effective Presidential campaign and too weak to face terrorists. He would rather cower in a corner than face any potential discomfort.

He didn’t defend the cartels; he implied that the US would suffer “blowback”, whatever he meant by that.

If Mexico can’t control the cartels we should do it ourselves. Give the CIA a real mission.

Oh, and make Mexico pay for it!

Our end state is a secure border and peace in our nation. You guys would be wise to keep that in mind.

Cartels have a presence throughout our country. You start military action against them in Mexico and they have nothing to lose by lashing out here, especially when they know their friends and family members will be on the receiving end of bombs and bullets. Go look at videos of how the cartels take care of business and understand they will snatch up Americans and do those things to them in retribution.

A huge percentage of our weaponry sent to Ukraine has gone to the black market. When you guys figure out how easy it is to transport things like AT4's and Stingers, you let me know. Any of you want to take a guess how many super busy airports are in close proximity to the border, from El Paso out to LA? Go look at how commercial jets stack up prior to landing at these big airports. A Stinger can reach out to around 12,000 feet. Do the math.

AT4s and similar munitions can be launched into schools, churches, grocery stores, etc, including our border entry points. An AT-4 weighs about 15lbs and is about 1 meter long. One person can easily haul two of them around. Dirt cheap on the black market. These people will have our night vision and thermal devices as well, including long range scopes for rifles.

You go after the cartels straight away with military action and you can rest assured these types of things start happening. Cartels have been getting stuff on the black market for years and that has surely gone into overdrive with Ukraine. We've had 10 million or more people stream across the border in the last 4 years, with tens of thousands linked to the cartels, ISIS, AQ, and other groups. Gosh, I wonder if they might strike a deal with one another to combine their efforts against US targets in the interior.

The solution here is to secure the border and that means all of it, with our military. The cartels cannot defeat the US military on an area security / area denial mission, securing the whole border. This gives the cartels a way off the battlefield and achieves our desired end state.

Let me now when you guys understand any of this, but until then, please keep up the name calling. It's really persuasive and let's me know you're really on the ball here. Bunch of true tacticians and strategists we have here.

Be specific, what blow back?

Also, when you write down the pros and cons of taking out these animalistic cartels that prey on the innocent and that have zero respect for human life, the pros will always out weigh the cons by a huge portion.

So, by your logic, the above groups are off limits? We should only focus on the border and do nothing to upset the above groups for fear of retaliation?
